  1. There is a tradition in Russia – to pick (up, on, off) garbage and collect old leaves in spring to make lawns and streets clean.

  7. He felt nervous to come (on, in, out) and see what was behind the door.
  8. She wanted to find (up, out, in) the truth about her friend as soon as possible.
  9. The lecture was called (off, of, after) and students went to the nearest café.
  10. Everyone knows that it is not easy to bring (for, of, up) children nowadays.
  11. “Hey, come (in, after, on), or we are going to be late!”
  12. If you give (up, off, in) now, there is no way back.
  13. They walked (out, in, away) without looking back.
  14. Everyone stood (on, down, up) to meet the president of a company.

  17. “Hold (on, of, in) a minute, I’ll ask him to come here.”
  18. He had to get (in, for, up) very quickly in the morning not to be late for the meeting.
  19. Please, turn (off, up, on) the light, it’s too dark already, and turn (on, off, in) TV, let’s talk.
  20. If you are sure that you are right – then go (on, after, for) talking.
