Seasons. Времена года.

It is spring now. March, April and May are spring months. The weather is fine in spring. It is cool or warm. It sometimes rains. In May it is very warm. You can see flowers in the fields.

It is summer. June, July and August are summer months. It is hot and sunny in summer. The weather is nice. The days are long and the nights are short. The fields and trees are green. Children run and play in the streets.

It is autumn. September, October and November are autumn months. It is cool in autumn. The weather is rainy and windy. The trees are yellow and red. There are many fruits and vegetables in the gardens. (далее…)

I and my foreign friend. Я  и мой иностранный друг.

I have a foreign friend. His name is James. He is from London. Every month I write letters to him. And he writes letters to me. We are both 10 years old, but we are very different.

I live in a small town. James lives in a big city. I have two sisters. James has one brother. I like football. James likes baseball.

I get up at 7 o'clock. He gets up at 8 o'clock. I eat porridge in the morning. James eats yogurt with fruits.

I have five lessons every day. James has six lessons. I study six days a week. He studies five days a week. My favourite subject is English. His favourite subject is Maths. (далее…)

Доброе-доброе-доброе утро, планета!

Не знаю, как у вас, конечно, но на моей планете английского (под названием Liza's English) сейчас именно утро. И важную информационно-практическую статью об английской транскрипции я решила-таки написать на бодрую утреннюю голову. Думаю, вы не против). Тогда начнем разбор этой простой, но часто вызывающей много вопросов темы.

Содержание:

1. Нужна ли транскрипция?
2. Для чего ее придумали?
3. Гласные звуки.
4. Согласные звуки.
5. Дифтонги (двойные звуки).
6. Немного практики.

И начну я с вопроса:

А нужна ли английская транскрипция вообще?

Что вам на это сказать?.. Если в школьной программе по английскому языку ее проходят и заставляют учить, тогда конечно не отвертеться! Если же говорить глобально, то ее отсутствие при изучении английского никак не скажется на результатах и знаниях. (далее…)

At school. В школе.

My lessons at school begin at 8:15. I usually have 4 or 5 lessons a day. And at noon or at 1 o’clock I go home.

We have many subjects at school. They are: Maths, Russian, English, Reading, Physical Education (PE), History, Geography, Arts, Music and Handicraft lessons. My favourite subjects are: Arts and English. I like to draw animals and nature at our Arts lessons. At English lessons we write English words and sentences, do exercises, listen to dialogues and speak. My English teacher is wonderful.

After each lesson we have a break. I like breaks very much. I and my friends usually play different games during the break. And after the second lesson – at 10 o’clock — we go to the canteen and have a delicious lunch. (далее…)

А знаете ли вы, что каждый второй ученик, изучающий английский в школе, не понимает 70% материалов и информации, которые он получает на уроках, а каждый третий — имеет с этим предметом еще более серьезные проблемы...

Что делать и куда бежать?

Репетитор? — не всем по карману...

Курсы? — неудобно, далеко и т.д. и т.п.

My weekdays and weekend. Мои будни и выходные.

I usually get up at 7 o'clock in the morning. I don't play games in the morning. I make my bed, wash my face and have breakfast. I eat porridge and drink tea. I don't drink coffee and I don't eat soup for breakfast.

In the afternoon I have lessons at school. On the lessons I write, read and do exercises. I don't listen to music and I don't do my homework at school.

In the evening I usually do my homework and go for a walk with my friends. I don't watch TV in the evening.

On Saturady and Sunday I don't study. I have a rest. I ride my bike and read my favourite books. (далее…)

Seasons, months and days of the week. Времена года, месяцы и дни недели.

A year has four seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter. I like summer. In summer the weather is hot and sunny.

Every season has three months. Spring has March, April and May. Summer has June, July and August. Autumn has September, October and November. Winter has December, January and February.

The first month of the year is January. The last month of the year is December.
I like December, July and April. In December we have New Year. In July we can swim and sunbathe. And in April I have my birthday. (далее…)

My bedroom. Моя спальня.

This is my bedroom. It is not large.

There are many things in it. There is my bed in the room. It is red. The lamp is near it. The bookcase is on the right. There are many books and exercise-books on it.

There is a big wardrobe in the corner. It is white. There are my clothes in it. On the left there is a window. There are two chairs under the window. They are between the wardrobe and the chest of drawers. (далее…)

In the children's room. В детской комнате.

Look at this picture. This is the children's room. You can see three children in the room: a girl and two boys. The boys are the girl's brothers. She is their sister.

The little boy is sitting on the floor and playing. His name is Peter. Peter is very small. He is three years old. The boy near him is standing. His name is Andrey. Andrey is looking at his little brother. The girl's name is Olesya. She is sitting at the table. She is a schoolgirl and she is in the first grade. Olesya is doing her homework. She is a good pupil. My friend's house. Дом моей подруги.

I have a friend. Her name is Sveta. Sveta's house is in the village. The name of the village is «Chistye Prudy». There are many new houses in this village. There are many nice trees and flowers in the streets.

Sveta's house is not very big. It has four rooms and a kitchen. Two of the rooms are large. They are the living-room and the dining-room. There are two bedrooms in the house. One of the bedrooms is Sveta's room. It is not large. It is nice and has one window. There is a sofa and a wardrobe in Sveta's room. There are also many toys and books in it. (далее…)
